Hello everyone,
I am a professional counsellor and live and work in Tanah Merah, south of Brisbane. I have a Diploma of Professional Counselling, a Diploma of Multi-Addiction Counselling, A Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis and a Diploma of Remedial Therapies to name just a few!! I came from a nursing background to study natural therapies and then qualified counselling was a natural progression for me.

I am an active member of the FPCQ (Federation of Psychotherapists and Counsellors Queensland) and the Australian Counselling Association where I also supervise other counsellors as a mentor.

I have a small private practice which I run from my home art studio as I often use art therapy in my work. In my spare time I am an exhibiting artist working in paints, glass mosaic and also stone.

I specialise in relationship counselling and personal growth and development work.

Helping people find their peace and personal power is a privilege that honours me.

I prefer not to work with children under 12 years unless in the context of family counselling (as this is very specialised) but other than that, I am open to most things including intimacy problems and other sensitive issues.

I am bound by both a personal and professional code of conduct and ethics, so every consultation is treated with the strictest of confidence and sensitivity.

I am able to counsel people at my practice face- to-face, by telephone and also by Skype (I have webcam set-up). People can pay me by Paypal or credit card facility at this time or by cash in person. There are no referrals necessary but an appointment must be arranged prior. I do not believe in long waiting lists and always leave time aside for emergency consultations.

I am not a psychologist or social worker so it is not possible to claim fees on Medicare as these people who do are working with a diagnosable psychological issue (mental illness) referred by the doctor.

I am committed to mental health and wellness. My fees are $80 per first consult (one hour and a half) and then $70 per hour thereafter. Couples are $80 per session each time. Please note that it may be possible to claim consultations back on your tax return if you have a business or if you are referring an employee for assistance.

People dynamics is extremely important in business as you would know, so if you "have trouble in the camp" please consider counselling. I am happy to mediate workplace problems and can assist you further by attending your workplace if necessary.

Harmony and attitude are very complimentary to inspiration and success!!

I expect and work on getting results.

Please check me out at www.goodcounselling.com.au and feel free to call me on 07-33881054 or 0415 959 267

Hi Frances,

Hope your US trip was a smashing success!! I'm sorry we couldn't connect while you were here; I'd have enjoyed meeting you, but c'est la vie.

Best,

Nancy

Let me know if I can help you in any way!

Hope to hear back from you soon.

Take care and be blessed!

Hi Frances,

Just checking in to see how the plans for your US trip are coming along and to reiterate my invitation to you and your traveling partner to stop off in Scenic Schenectady (if we have to call it that, it isn't -- well, it could be more scenic, but I live in a pretty section of the city) for lunch as you travel by train from NYC to Niagara.

Hope the season is treating you well (it's @#$% cold here, and please don't tell me about how it's 90°F there; one day, when I'm rich and famous, I shall summer in NY then summer again DowNunuder).

Best,

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

Thank you sooo much for the offer of a lunch get together! That is so nice of you and I would love It.  I have to get on to my travelling partner first as she is doing all the bookings and see if it is possible (in the time frame we have).  I will get back to you for sure!

Yes we do cross our fingers!  Must be a worldwide thing!

If you ever get to plan a trip to the land of Aus, we will have to catch up.  In fact it will be my pleasure to show you around if you came to Brisbane.

Best wishes,   Frances

What a small world!! Yes of course I still remember you. What are you doing in Brisbane?

Yes my biz is going well. Will be in Brisbane at the end of March for a weekend. Maybe we can meet up for a cuppa?

Just a thought...

The train from NYC to Niagara Falls makes a local stop not half a mile from my office. If you'd like to hop off in Schenectady and have lunch -- there's a local eatery called (I kid you not) Pinhead Susan's that has a decent lunch menu, or did -- then hop back on a later train for Niagara, I'd be delighted to meet you.

Thank you for reading my profile and commenting!  You also to look to lead an interesting life from the looks of your business and I want to join in the mutual amazement of how easy it is to connect with overseas new friends thanks to the internet!  I am travelling to US in May to stay with an artist friend in North Carolina and in June we will be flying to New York and doing some sightseeing.  We intend to paint in Central Park and fit in lots of exciting things while we are there.  We then will take the train to Niagara Falls and stay at the Hilton (very exciting!) and also paint and drink in the surroundings! From there we go to Buffalo (oh dear they had a plane crash today) and then back to Charlotte, North Carolina.  My friend is a sculptor and artist like me (although that is in my spare time) so I will be running stone sculpting workshops from her studio and indulging in my passion-art!! It is a long overdue holiday and I am soooo excited!  Best wishes from Downunder,  Frances

Hi Frances,

Your trip to the US sounds terrific. Beware of Niagara Falls; it is a True Tourist Trap. That said, you must be absolutely certain to take a ride on the MAID OF THE MIST; just be prepared to get wet! It will be fairly warm in North Carolina in May. New York is too variable to predict (we have had snow in May, we have had 38°C heat in May).

Central Park is a lovely place to paint; if you're lucky, you will have perfect weather in May (of course, New York City does have rain, and rain there is just nasty). I'll keep my fingers crossed for your good luck in that department (do you cross fingers for good luck in Australia? That may be an Americanism).

Yes, the internet is great for meeting new friends from faraway places -- and for reconnecting with old ones (I met online the now-grown son of a gentleman I worked with when I lived in Sweden 1000 years ago). One day I will travel to Australia and meet your wonderful wildlife -- we don't have wallabies and echidnas here -- face to face. I've wanted to do that forever.

Best wishes from Up-Over (well, if you're Downunder...)

Nancy

Hi Frances, Thanks for the lovely feedback.  I'd love to work with you in some way although I am not sure what you are thinking or whether it is just an intuitive thought.  I love collaborating with people on business stuff so if you have any ideas you want to throw around let me know.  Have a happy day.  Taimi
