"You look tired." At least three people on the leadership program and a couple of my colleagues said that to me this week. Nice. I would have preferred, "You look gorgeous!" But 'tired' is the feedback I got. It started to bother me. My mother-in-law says this to me every time I see her. My boss says it to me. My honey says it to me and makes me lie on the couch while he cooks dinner (that part is good!). I realised I was projecting 'tired' out in to my world. And that is just so u... Read More
It started off badly. I took a phone call from a sales rep who talked really quickly and wanted me to sign up on the spot for the unbelievably-amazing-super-dup er-offer. My spider senses were tingling, and I backed off and used the great pause button, "I must talk with my husband." Not taking 'no' for an answer she persisted - "Shall I call him for you?" (got to admire that kind of tenacity!) I had a pretty good idea of what he might say to that ('bugger off' comes to mind). So I refuse... Read More

This message takes listening to a deeper, more magnetic level that creates deep, authentic connection. The first person you should be listening to is yourself. Now 'duh' I hear you saying. But have you truly been giving your inner voice a platform to air its opinions and insights? Chances are, if you... Read More
When I think 'resistance' what comes to mind is the French Resistance: a bunch of intrepid and dedicated underground rebels fighting for the freedom of their country - all with a certain 'je ne sais quoi' and irresistible French accents... But that's only good in the movies. Dealing with oppression and tyranny is no picnic, and certainly not sexy. We're not talking just about subversion though. We are talking about the resistance you have to your goals. The kind that turn... Read More
