Hey Shell

Your articles are fantastic! I did a child first aid course about 8 months ago, and this has certainly hepled to reinforce the info I learnt.

Congratulations!!

Hi Marnie & Shell, what type of articles do you write and how? Does a client approach you and give you subject matter and a direction and you just go with that? I stall completely when it comes to writing, I'm much more of a talker however getting it down is a problem for me and I've been thinking about getting something along these lines written for me.

Regards

Annalisa

Hi Annalisa,

Sorry, I've barely been able to log on when I'm interrupted and have to log off again, it's been a crazy couple of weeks!

Thank you for your response to my topic! - I've had both a client approach me and I've approached clients.

I've approached them with ideas such as updating out of date content for free among others. I was approached when they wanted a specific topic done.

A good idea is to let yourself be known, send letters/emails around. Then when something comes up they have YOU in mind to write for them (this is another avenue I've tried.) I still get calls/emails about things from months ago, you just never know where these may lead.

You may have noticed that one of the topics I actually asked about on here when someone approached me to do an article just on "baby first aid". This is very broad, and whilst I had an idea of where to go I asked on here what ppl would like to see under that title.  That helped immensley and helped me to fine-tune my thinking before getting started.

Usually for me, I have a structure of where I want the article to go.  Then the hard part is how to start it.  Once I start I find the rest just flows. I then ask others to read over it with "fresh eyes" that know little about the topic to see if the message gets through the way I want.

It's a bit of work, but it's worked out quite well.

What kind of topics did you have in mind? Is there anything I can help you with? Just let me know :-)

Must go, kids are about to kill each other and I have a 2 hour drive ahead of me, trying to eat breakky and kids have yet to have a bath they so desperately need...

Hi Jo,

Thank you for your kind words! Very much appreciated. I'm still farily new to the whole article writing thing so I really value to encouragement!

Well done on doing first aid recently on your own, not many people do and it's just so important!

Always happy to answer any first aid related (or anything else if I can) questions
