Have you already got a blog?
Hi, I want to hear from business women who either already have a blog and how they are managing it, and also those who haven't got one yet. Don't worry if you're the latter, this group is designed to help you get one, and for the former category I want to help you increase the capacity of your blog and make it even more successful! I'm looking forward to your responses! Alice

Blogging for business
Hi Alice and group members,
I have just found this group and joined and that thought I would say hello.
As posted in the forum reply I have a blog linked to my webpage and have added two blogs for the year.. It was supposed to be for special occasions that I was blogging about, but Easter seriously fell by the wayside!
Alice, you have given me some very good advice and I hope to get my act together to use it wisely because if nothing else I really like to write and connect to people.
So, bring on the group members and let's get this blogging party started! Yahoo!!
Best wishes,
Kirsty

Hi everyone
I too have a blog, however have been slack since Dec last year, but I do say that Alice has inspired me to get back on track and start posting again, so this weekend I post a I am back post and I am going to try and schedule posts so that I don't forget and let it slide again.
Look forward to any advice about the best way to use my blog.
Also, anyone who might be interested in exchanging links and comments to help eachother out I would certainly be interested.
Regards, Rachel

New members!
Welcome Rachel (lafemme), Kirsty (Hamperific) and Jan (AromaBeauty)! Glad to inspire you ladies into starting blogging again. Here's an Easter tip: Looking for inspiration for blog posts? If you post a newsletter, why not transcribe the articles onto your blog? There they will reach a larger audience and may stimulate more newsletter subscriptions. Anything you've done that would benefit your customers or even yourself - and make it into a little story to aid understanding. Take a look at your email sent folder - is there anything there that could be adapted into a post? Write about your successes, whether it's about your service or product, or if something has happened that has made your life easier or your business more visible, or you met someone exciting while social networking... Think of a problem your customers may have at the moment and write about your solution to it. There, that's enough to be going on with - happy posting! Alice

hi
Hi Alice
I am new to all this twittering and blogging and I need some help. I have my business and have been told that blogging and twittering are a great form of marketing my business. So I have a blogger and twitter account but am unsure of how these work. Can you Help me please? I know that you post your little blurbs but how does that send people to my site? Please help?
Kind Regards
Kerry

Hi Kerry,
Blogging and twittering are similar that they are both a medium for you to express yourself, except that blogging allows a bit more than 140 characters to do so. Twitter is also called 'microblogging'.
Twitter works on the question 'what are you doing?', and you shouldn't tweet mundane things like what you had for breakfast, but snippets of information about your business that people will want to know more about. Your link in your bio should either lead to a special landing page all about you, or to a relevant page on your website or your blog. Each Twitter post can also link back to your website or whatever (use tinyurls for this purpose) so that your traffic will increase. If you tweet questions or leading statements this will also increase any interested parties.
If you're starting out I suggest you get blogging under your belt, and then you progress to Twitter. But as you already have an account (mine's @alicedesigns) you can feed each new post you make on your blog onto Twitter through the RSS feed I've been talking about. There are lots of applications to do this, but I expect Twitterfeed.com is the most well known.
Why do this? You want a many people as possible to read your posts, hence why you should also have a well publicised link from your website to your blog. Search engine optimisation thrives on links, and if you can create as many links as possible to both your blog, Twitter and website, your traffic will increase and so will your followers if they like what they see.
Alice
